Crews from the West Side Rowing Club won three gold medals Saturday in the St. Catharines Rowing Club Invitational Regatta. Two West Side women’s fours triumphed — the Under 17 and Under 19 boats. The other gold was the men’s Under 23 Eight from the West Side Development Camp.
Also, an eight from the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association took the gold in the Men’s U17 Fours, winning in 6:53.8. That crew included coxswain Jackson Kelly, Ryan Walter, Zachary Sebastian, Max Tell, and Matthew Kazmierczak) 6:53.8.
Samantha Lazar, Hanna Prince, Sophie Quigley, Lila Evans and coxswain Elizabeth Cartonia were in the victorious U17 crew in 7:30.118 over the 2,000-meters course. Emma Vicaretti, Theresa Rusch, Yana Los, Kelsey Gosch and coxswain Kate Ryan were in the U19 boat which won in 7:52.578.
The victorious Development Camp eight included: Justin Manzi, Pierson Janes, John Scaduto, Kevin Pope, Dalton Weir, Konstantin Hamilton, Geoffrey Hobika, Michael Battaglia and coxswain Bella Zionts. They won in 5:58.279.
West Side crews also took silvers in the men’s U19 Eights, women’s U17 Eights and the women’s U19 Fours and a bronze in the men’s U17 Fours. The development camp also won a silver in the women’s U23 Fours.
