The mistress of former Buffalo Bill Buster Barnett kidnapped and killed Barnett’s wife and then shot herself earlier this week, according to media reports.
Sandra Barnett was kidnapped from her Clayton County, Ga., home by Barnett’s girlfriend, who found out the married couple was planning a trip, police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
After a police chase on I-20 on Thursday that crossed from Georgia into Alabama, a Dodge Durango driven by the girlfriend – identified as Lisa Brown, 49, of Lithonia, Ga. – stopped in the middle of the highway. That’s when Brown fatally shot Sandra Barnett, 58, and then herself, according to media reports, including Atlanta’s NBC affiliate WXIA.
Buster Barnett was drafted as a tight end out of Jackson State in 1981. He played for the team through the 1984 season.
