HARRINGTON, Mary Kay

HARRINGTON - Mary Kay Of Orchard Park, passed away on July 12, 2015 at the age of 70. Loving and devoted partner of 40 years to Kathy Kroldart; beloved sister of Bill (April), Jeff (Barb), Andy, Steve (Lynn), Donald, Roy (Heidi), Christa Williams, Kevin (Beverly), Kent, Nick, Glenn and Shawn; predeceased by one brother David (Joan) and mother Marjorie Harrington; dearest friend and beloved "Yaya" sister to Billie Jo Harrington (Howard); also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her "mini me's" Jenna and Kim, Darlene Kroldart and the Telesco family. Mary Kary was a woman with a kind and generous heart who loved to make people laugh. After high school she entered Sisters of St. Mary of Namur Convent where she took her simple vows before leaving to help care for her mom and younger siblings. She found her true calling at West Seneca Developmental Center as a certified Physical Therapy Assistant. The love of her job, the love of the people she worked along side and all those she cared for shown brightly for all 33 1/2 years of service. She was employee of the year in 1981 but continued to be nominated for many years after. Mary Kay was a sports enthusiast through and through! She was an avid Yankee, Duke (Coach Kay) and frustrated Bills fan. In her younger years she played various sports. Her passion was softball and she played for many years for the Breski's as the catcher. In fact, her one wish was to organize a softball team once she got to Heaven. Mary Kay has one other great love and that was for all animals, especially her dogs and cats. She brought joy and laughter to all the lives she touched and will be greatly missed. In memory of Mary Kay she asked that you offer a random act of kindness for someone less fortunate. No prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport on Friday (July 24th) at 10 o'clock.
