A home was destroyed by fire Thursday night at 7330 Michael Road in Orchard Park.
The Orchard Park Police said flames 30 to 40 feet high were seen coming out of the unoccupied house.
Fire companies from the Orchard Park, Windom, Hillcrest, Scranton and Newton Abbott departments responded, but the building was still considered a total loss. Estimated damages to the building and property were $250,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the detective bureau, with assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Unit.
