Canalside will have 120 additional containers for recycling and waste in partnership with the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation and Mayor Byron W. Brown’s 34andMore Buffalo Recycles initiative.
The city has given Canalside 50 recycling containers, 50 garbage totes, and 20 clear stream totes, that add to Canalsides existing receptacles to promote recycling in Buffalo. The 34andMore initiative is the goal of achieving 34 percent recycling in Buffalo by 2016.
“34andMore Buffalo Recycles is a lively and energetic citywide recycling campaign designed to ensure that Buffalo continues to go greener every day and I thank Canalside for its effort to help us,” Brown said in a release.
Brown kicked off the recycling initiative on Earth Day this year.
