Deborah A Riordan, longtime secretary for the American Legion

Deborah A. Riordan, a longtime secretary for the American Legion and dancer with the Lake Erie Club Italian Dancers, died July 2 in Buffalo. She was 51.

Mrs. Riordan, the former Deborah Alimonti, was born in Lackawanna and graduated from Lackawanna Senior High School in 1982. She was a secretary for the local American Legion and then worked until 2005 in the American Legion Department of New York service office in Buffalo.

She formerly served on the Erie County Republican Committee, and danced with the Lake Erie Club Italian Dancers in the 1980s. Mrs. Riordan enjoyed bowling and playing bingo, and she played softball for the Park Grill in Lackawanna.

Survivors include her husband, A. Brian Riordan; a daughter, Meagan Riordan; a sister, Barbara; and a brother, Vincent.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on July 7 in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.
