Buffalo native Brian McKnight, best known for his silky smooth R&B ballads in the 1990s, will return home for a concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Seneca Events Center inside the Seneca Niagara Hotel and Casino in Niagara Falls.
McKnight, who has sold more than 25 million records since releasing his self-titled debut album in 1992, is a graduate of Sweet Home High School. In addition to his vocals, he is versed in nine musical instruments.
On Saturday night he will be accompanied by a full band. Fans can expect McKnight to perform his biggest hits including “One Last Cry” and “Back at One,” the highest charting single of his career (No. 2 on the U.S. charts).
Over an 11-year span, McKnight was nominated 16 times for a Grammy, though he has never won music’s top honor. (He holds the distinction – along with rapper Snoop Dogg – of having the most nominations in Grammy history without a win.
He has collaborated with music heavyweights Justin Timberlake, Nelly and Vanessa Williams among others, and has found success as a radio host, television personality and on the stage in several theater productions, most notably on Broadway in “Chicago.”
