Kitten thrown from a moving vehicle in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – A bag containing a kitten was thrown from a moving vehicle just after 2 a.m. Monday in the 4600 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls police reported.

Police arrived and found a woman, crying and holding an injured gray tabby kitten wrapped in a towel. The kitten suffered injuries to the left side of its jaw and neck, as well as its right paw. The kitten also had road rash and was underweight.

The woman said she was walking north on 56th Street near Niagara Falls Boulevard and noticed a vehicle throw a bag out of the window. She said she went to investigate and the kitten crawled out of the bag.

The kitten “smelled like death,” she said, so she took the kitten and ran. She was unable to give a description of the vehicle or a location of the bag.

Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the bag. The kitten was transported to Grand Island Small Animal Hospital for treatment.
