HONOR ROLL – Several local residents have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Airman Sean Marshall is the son of Melissa Powell and brother of Malik Turner of Buffalo. He is a 2013 graduate of Burgard High School.

Airman Minh D. Dao is the son of Thuha Tran of Williamsville. He is a 2010 graduate of Williamsville North High School and a 2014 graduate of Erie Community College.

ONE NIGHT ONLY – Terry Buchwald will perform his tribute to Elvis at 7 p.m. Thursday in Glenwell senior living community, 2248 Old Union Road, Cheektowaga. The performance will take place on the building’s front patio area facing the flagpole, weather permitting. Ice cream treats will be served. Guests for the all-ages event are asked to bring a lawn chair.

TO MARKET – West Seneca’s Main Street Marketplace is open from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the grassy hill at Union Road and Main Street, adjacent to Town Hall. Several new vendors are set to join the farmers market this week. Music from Monica Huntz will be featured from 5:30 to 7 p.m., weather permitting. In case of wet weather, vendors move to the parking lot at the nearby ice rink.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Habitat for Humanity Buffalo, which provides affordable housing at a no-interest mortgage to families in need, is seeking volunteers at construction sites to help finish this year’s build goal of 16 homes. This is the first year in Habitat’s plan to build 100 homes in the next five years. It takes approximately 4,000 volunteer hours to build a home. ART OPENING - “Infinitely Complex,” an exhibit of installations, paintings, films and mixed media by artist Rick Williams opens the 2015 season for Casa de Arte Gallery, 141 Elmwood Ave. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. It’s free, and so is parking behind the gallery. The exhibit runs through August 16.

IN BLOOM - The 13th annual Ken-Ton Garden Tour kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Friday with “night lights” until 11 p.m.

The tour of 51 gardens around Kenmore and Town of Tonawanda continues Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and at night Saturday with another night-lights program.
