Kaleida Health said Monday it had acquired a pair of related medical practices, beefing up its urology and cancer care services.
The region’s largest medical care system did not say how much it paid to acquire Western New York Urology Associates LLC or Cancer Care of WNY.
The businesses, both led by managing member Dr. Kent Chevli, will be integrated into Kaleida, but will also retain separate identities. The combined group of 30 doctors and 350 employees will still serve patients and refer doctors throughout the eight-county area from the same private office and hospital locations. Chevli will now serve as president of both practices.
The two specialty practices said they see 100,0000 unique patients every year.
Western New York Urology, founded in 1996, has nine locations in Cheektowaga, Niagara, Orchard Park, Jamestown, Dunkirk, Corfu, Hamburg, Derby, and Springville. The doctors have affiliations with 23 hospitals and outpatient facilities.
Cancer Care of WNY, founded in 2008, specializes in treating breast, prostate and lung cancer, among others, and also offers expertise in urology and radiation oncology. It operates three locations in Cheektowaga, Jamestown and Cambria.
