Woman charged with breaking six liquor bottles

The owner of an East Side liquor store told Buffalo police a woman broke six bottles of liquor Saturday night and threatened him and one of his employees with a knife.

The woman, identified in a police report only as “Jane Doe,” was charged with second-degree assault. The owner of the East Ferry Street store told Ferry-Fillmore District officers the woman broke the bottles worth $300 just after 10 p.m. then pulled a knife from her purse and “waved it around the store recklessly” while several customers and the owner’s five-year-old child were in the store.

The report did not specify what caused the incident.
