Sidewalk work completed in Lockport

LOCKPORT – The installation of new sidewalks on streets leading to several Lockport schools was completed last week, according to project engineer Catherine H. Knab of the Wendel engineering firm.

The state Safe Routes to School program funded $342,000 of the $447,816 contract to Roman Construction Development Corp. of Pendleton to install the sidewalks on East High and Corinthia streets, Locust Street Extension and Hi-Point Drive. The Town of Lockport paid for the remainder. Work on the concrete sidewalks began in April.
