Niagara Falls man charged with unemployment fraud

NIAGARA FALLS – State Police arrested a Niagara Falls man accused of collecting $5,300 in unemployment benefits while holding three different jobs.

Nicholas E. Roessler, 30, was charged with three felonies: third-degree grand larceny, falsifying business records and offering a false instrument for filing.

Troopers said they and the Labor Department concluded that Roessler collected the money between May 23, 2011, and Aug. 24, 2014, while working for three different local companies during that time: Fiddler Roofing in Niagara Falls, Cheek Cheek Enterprises in Lewiston and Precious Plate in Niagara Falls.
