Traffic on a section of the I-190 in the Town of Tonawanda will be slowed down four times between 5:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The slowdowns – happening in both directions between the south Grand Island bridges and the I-290 – are expected to last about 10 minutes each, the state Thruway Authority announced.
The slowdowns are meant to accommodate a National Grid project, officials said. State troopers and other traffic personnel will be on hand guiding motorists through the area.
Also, all I-190 lanes on the southbound North Grand Island Bridge between exits 21 and 20 are currently closed for construction until 8 a.m. Saturday. There will be two-way traffic on the northbound North Grand Island Bridge, with one lane open for northbound traffic and one for southbound,
