University at Buffalo punter Tyler Grassman was named to the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list Thursday. The award is given annually to the top punter in college football.
Grassman, entering his fourth year as the Bulls’ starting punter, was one of 25 student-athletes named to the preseason watch list. Grassman is coming off a season with a career-best 40.7 yards per punt average and opponents only gained 32 yards on his 50 punts last season.
He is just one of three punters from the Mid-American Conference named to the watch list.
