Repaving of Amsdell Road in Hamburg should be finished by next week, weather permitting, according to Erie County.
Work began on the 1.9-mile section of Amsdell between Route 5 and Pleasant Avenue July 1, and is part of nearly $30 million in road improvements being undertaken by the county this year.
About 3.5 inches of asphalt was removed from the road and was replaced with asphalt the same thickness, according to the county Public Works Highways’ Division. Road striping and some driveway connections remain to be completed as part of the project.
About 5,000 vehicles use the road each day.
