The Automobile Association of America has just bestowed one of its highest designations on a property owned by Buffalo-based Hart Hotels.
The company’s 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, a full-service property on the St. Lawrence River in Clayton, has been given Four-Diamond status. It is one of just 24 hotels in Upstate New York to have that designation. Two other Hart Hotels’ properties, the Portland Harbor Hotel in Portland, Maine, and the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen also have Four-Diamond ratings from AAA.
The hotel has 105 deluxe guest rooms and suites, fine and casual dining options, an on-site concierge and nightly turn-down service.
Four Diamond status is AAA’s second-highest designation. It denotes properties that are “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail,” according to AAA. Only 5.4 percent of the 28,000 hotels reviewed by the travel association attain that status.
