LEWISTON – Gerry Gismondi of Lewiston has been named chairman of the 2015 Niagara County Peach Festival, which will be held Sept. 11-13 at Academy Park on Center Street.
The 58th annual event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston and will once again feature peach shortcake made with locally grown peaches from Bittner Singer Orchards. The festival will feature 40 carnival rides, 22 food vendors, Peach Queen, Peach Blossom and Peach Fuzz pageants, a parade on Saturday, cheerleading contest, 5K run and live entertainment.
Gismondi has been a member of the Lewiston Kiwanis for four years and served as vice chairman of the Niagara County Peach Festival in 2014.
The annual event has raised more than $1 million for local charities since its inception in 1958. This year, the event is sponsored by WGRZ-TV and The Buffalo News.
