A dietitian will attend the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market starting Saturday to hold workshops and provide recipes as part of a program aimed at promoting the consumption of fruits and vegetables.
“Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables!” is a program that’s run by the Food Bank of Western New York and funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, educational program. The program comes to the farmers market for the first time this summer on Saturday, and will return each week through September. The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market features nearly 40 vendors selling local produce and products, and is open every Saturday, rain or shine, through November.
A dietitian will be at the farmers market as part of the program to conduct nutrition education workshops and provide samples of recipes that involve fruits and vegetables. The program is free and open to the public.
