Man on probation for child porn plerads guilty to another charge

A Niagara Falls man on probation for possessing child pornography pleaded guilty Thursday to a second charge of child pornography possession.

As part of a plea deal, Michael Weaver, 39, admitted owning two unauthorized cell phones for the purpose of downloading images of child pornography. Prosecutors said a forensic examination found the phones contained 1,500 images and 20 videos of child pornography.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Carol G. Bridge said the defendant had previously been sentenced to 78 months and was released and placed on probation in August of 2013. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14 before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
