Two individuals were stabbed, one fatally, in Lackawanna early Wednesday morning, police reported.
Ashley Whiting, 21, of 135 Madison Ave., died from multiple stab wounds, according to Lackawanna Police Chief James Michel.
Daniel Whiting, 27, her husband, suffered several stab wounds and was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.
He underwent surgery, but was expected to survive, the chief said.
“There were two young children in the house, but they were unharmed,” Michel said. “They were turned over to close family members.”
The youngsters were identified as the couple’s children.
Police responded to a first aid call at about 1:40 a.m. Wednesday at 135 Madison Ave.
Lackawanna detectives and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
