Buffalo woman sent to federal prison for fentanyl trafficking

Fannie Long, 53, of Buffalo, was ordered Wednesday to serve a 96-month federal prison term by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny on her conviction for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel said that between January 2009 and September 26, 2013 Long and another woman distributed controlled substances containing some fentanyl including Lortab, Xanax and Soma using medical prescriptions, some initially legitimate and some stolen, with Long making street sales of the drugs until her arrest. A woman cohort remains under investigation.
