Lockport sex offender imprisoned for burglary, weapons possession

LOCKPORT – Three to six years in state prison was the sentence Tuesday for a Level 1 sex offender who burglarized his former girlfriend’s apartment and was found to have some stolen guns when police arrested him.

Donald R. Manjeot, 37, of Saxton Street, Lockport, had pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and failure to register a change of address under the Sex Offender Registration Act.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. had at first said he was going to send Manjeot to the state prison system’s secure drug treatment facility, but later found Manjeot was ineligible for that sentence. The burglary occurred on Saxton Street Dec. 4, and when police carried out a search warrant Dec. 9 at Manjeot’s home, they found metal knuckles and guns that had been reported stolen in West Seneca.
