Erie County Sheriff’s deputies raided a Woodlawn residence Monday morning and arrested Douglas Burke Jr. on felony possession charges.
Deputies and officers discovered an elaborate marijuana-growing operation inside his home on Third Street, including irrigation and sophisticated lighting systems, deputies said.
They reported recovering 48 marijuana plants and $17,600 in U.S. currency during the raid.
Burke was charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor charge for unlawful growing of marijuana.
Burke is being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Hamburg Town Court.
The Narcotics Unit was assisted by a sheriff’s narcotics detection K9 unit and officers from the Hamburg Police Narcotic Unit.
