NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency will hold two public hearings Tuesday in Niagara Falls City Hall, 745 Main St., on tax breaks for new projects in the city.
At 3:15 p.m., the topic will be a 15-year tax abatement sought by Brightfields Corp. to erect a new, $11.7 million plant for Tulip Corp. That plastics firm’s current plant is next door to the site of the proposed new one: a Highland Avenue brownfield recently remediated by Brightfields, which would lease the new plant to Tulip.
At 3:30, a hearing will be held on a 10-year tax break for the owners of the Budget Host Motel, 6621 Niagara Falls Blvd., who plan to add a second story, a pool and a breakfast area. The number of rooms would be doubled from 30 to 60 as the motel joins the Baymont chain.
The IDA board is expected to vote on both deals July 8.
