SZYMANSKI, Ed

Szymanski - Ed Edmund Anthony Szymanski, 89, of The Villages, Florida passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. Ed and Flo moved to The Villages in 2003 from Lancaster, NY. Ed was Purchasing Director for Strippit, Inc. in Akron, NY; retiring after 30 years. He was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 347, Leonard American Legion Post in Cheektowaga, NY, the Western New York Club and enjoyed activities in the Village of Springdale East. Ed was a great joke teller, dog lover and loved his family. He served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He participated in one of the Honor Flights in May 2014, which was a high point in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Hattie Szymanski; siblings, Helen Klein, Janet Rusinski, Annette Pawelczyk, Leonard Szymanski and nephew, James Rusinski. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence Frederick Szymanski; two sons, Donald J. Szymanski (Lisa Kirkpatrick), Lithia, FL, Michael E. Szymanski Mann, Sarasota, FL; four nieces and two nephews. Memorial services and interment will take place at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
