Buffalo police find loaded gun after chasing suspect

Prompted by a report of men breaking into vacant houses, Buffalo police chased and caught a suspect in the 400 block of Berkshire Avenue at 2 a.m. Saturday.

David A. Lopez, 25, of Center Street, Lackawanna, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal use of a firearm and criminal obstruction of governmental administration, according to police.

Officers spotted Lopez sitting on a porch at 450 Berkshire Avenue and he fled after they got out of their patrol cars.

Police found a small black Ruger .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine containing nine rounds, plus one in the chamber.
