Dog Ears Bookstore and The Enlightenment Literary Arts Center in South Buffalo will offer free sessions of their Summer Reading and Writing Camp for children.
The arts center is a nonprofit organization that promotes personal reading habits, as well as group discussions and writing programs in order to boost the benefits of literacy. It’s on the upper floor of the bookstore at 688 Abbott Road.
Participants will gather for the camp in the arts center for a morning activity. After a brown-bag lunch, they’ll regroup for an afternoon writing exercise. At the end of the week, campers will bring home a portfolio containing their work.
Camps will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
