This weekend’s 20th annual Ride for Roswell will go on, rain or shine.
Up to three inches of rain is forecast for the region Saturday, when approximately 8,000 people are expected to ride between 3 and 102 miles to raise money for Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Given the forecast, participants are encourage to monitor the weather, dress appropriately and use their best judgment during changing weather conditions, said a spokesman for Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, which manages all donations to the institute.
Rest stops and severe weather shelters are located along each route, the spokesman said.
Organizers of the event are closely monitoring the forecast, the spokesman said, and if there are any changes or delays to report, riders who signed up with their cellphones will receive text alerts. Updates will be posted on The Ride For Roswell Facebook and Twitter accounts, and online at RideForRoswell.org.
