Man attacks McDonald’s security guard after being denied mayonnaise

A 40-year-old Buffalo man had to be pepper-sprayed after he staged a brief attack with a hammer and an unidentified large metal object because he had allegedly not been given mayonnaise with his order at the McDonald’s at 1338 Main St. late Thursday night.

Jason S. Durgin, of Tremont Avenue, was charged by Buffalo police with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.

Police said Durgin went after a security officer working in the fast-food restaurant and “became aggressive because they didn’t give him mayonnaise,” according to a Buffalo police report. The security officer subdued Durgin by pepper-spraying him and police officers seized the weapons.
