Lockport woman sentenced to diversion in jewelry theft

LOCKPORT – A Town of Lockport woman who took part in the theft of more than $3,000 worth of jewelry from her aunt received the same plea deal Friday as her boyfriend did two months ago.

Lisa M. Paladino, 19, of Aaron Drive, admitted to third-degree grand larceny and was assigned by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. Michael H. Howe, 23, of Tudor Lane, Lockport, entered diversion in April.

The couple ripped off Paladino’s aunt Nov. 2, but all the jewelry was recovered. Both Paladino and Howe risk up to seven years in prison if they fail in drug treatment.
