Lockport candidate’s house lease made public

LOCKPORT – A company owned by Lockport 1st Ward alderwoman candidate Jennifer O. D’Andrea-Terreri has leased a house at 151 Chestnut St., according to paperwork filed in the Niagara County Clerk’s office this week.

D’Andrea-Terreri’s opponent in an anticipated 1st Ward Republican primary, Shirley A. Nicholas, had charged D’Andrea-Terreri last month with failing to live in the ward. D’Andrea-Terreri responded at the time that she and her husband had acquired the Chestnut Street house last year, but until Tuesday there was no proof of such a transaction in county land records. D’Andrea-Terreri changed her voter registration April 21 from Rebecca Road in the Town of Lockport to 151 Chestnut.

The lease by D’Andrea-Terreri’s business, Propportunities Inc. of 80 Park Ave., Lockport, was signed April 17. Lockport attorney Allen D. Miskell signed it May 7 as the power of attorney for the owner, Jacqueline Zacher of Cleveland, Tenn., but the document wasn’t filed until Tuesday.

The lease is for 18 months and is retroactive to Dec. 15, and it gives D’Andrea-Terreri the option to buy the house. “Upon the completion of the sale of our current home in the town, we will obviously be purchasing Chestnut Street, which will be our permanent home,” D’Andrea-Terreri told The Buffalo News by email.
