Falls woman who arranged brawl via Twitter gets probation

LOCKPORT – A woman who helped set up a brawl among young women in Niagara Falls in 2013 that left four injured was placed on five years’ probation Friday and ordered by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon to perform 100 hours of community service.

Deasia Mays, 19, of the Falls, had pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in the wake of the July 10, 2013 fight on 18th Street that drew a crowd of about 30, lured by a series of posts on Twitter. The other women who pleaded guilty to the same charge also were placed on probation last month. They are Angelina E. Wilson, 25, and Jessica Levick, 29. Wilson also had to serve weekends in jail for four months.

The attackers apparently concealed razor blades in their fists as they beat up four other women, prosecutors have said. One of the victims suffered permanent eye damage, two others were left with scars and a fourth was bruised and scraped.
