D’Youville College will welcome Chinese students into its nursing program beginning in 2018, as a result of a new deal with Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
At least eight Chinese nursing students, and as many as 24, will study at the West Side campus as part of a new program that will allow them to earn a degree from each institution.
The students will take three years of nursing classes, taught in English, at Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Qualified students then will travel to D’Youville for two years.
Guangxi University, which will do all of the student recruiting, will begin accepting the first students into the program this fall.
D’Youville is one of three nursing programs in the country with a Chinese agreement, according to administrators.
