With the Thruway — both the 90 and the 190 — completed in Buffalo, the speed with which trucks can move across the state and the entire northeast was beyond anything seen before.

Buffalo’s central location made Buffalo’s Federal Reserve the obvious choice as a distribution hub for cash and coin, having recently handled a truckload of $43,000 in pennies.
