Two young men and three teenaged girls were arrested for larceny about 50 minutes after a purse was stolen in North Buffalo late Monday morning.
Daquan D. Dade, 18, of Crestwood Avenue, as well as a 17-year-old Buffalo man, and three 16-year-old girls, were arrested at Traymore Street and Hertel Alley off Colvin Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. on Monday, according to police reports.
All were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property for allegedly stealing a purse from a car parked in the 500 block of Linden Avenue at about 11:55 a.m. on Monday.
After the five were arrested, police officers reported finding in Dade’s right shoe the driver’s license of the woman whose purse had been stolen. Officers also reported the five had allegedly used one of the credit cards they had found in the purse to make purchases at a Dollar Tree store in the city.
