Buffalo Place Inc., a not-for-profit organization aimed at improving the downtown economy, elected four members Wednesday to its board of directors.
Four candidates ran for four open board positions and each person was elected for a two-year term, said Michael Schmand, executive director of Buffalo Place. The candidates were voted onto the organization’s private sector board, which has eight total members. The four board members who were elected are:
•Keith Belanger, senior vice president for M&T Bank and chairman of the board for Buffalo Place.
•Christopher Jacobs, president of Avalon Development.
•Mark Zies, senior vice president of HSBC Bank.
•Clifford Benson, chief development officer for the Buffalo Sabres, who will serve his first term on the board.
