Buffalo man sentenced for Newfane assault

LOCKPORT – A Buffalo man who pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Newfane last year was sentenced Wednesday to 1½ to three years in prison by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon.

Jeremiah K. Clark, 46, of Bridgeman Street, admitted in January to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault for punching and kicking a woman March 16, 2014 in a parking lot in Newfane.

Clark had been released from federal prison about a month before the incident after serving most of a 13-year sentence for illegally possessing cocaine, a handgun and ammunition in Lockport in 2002.
