SILVER CREEK – A traffic stop in the Chautauqua County Town of Hanover led to the arrest of a Cheektowaga motorist whose license had been revoked since 1997, according to State Police.
Richard Paryz, 62, was pulled over Saturday on Alleghany Road because the driver’s side headlight on his vehicle wasn’t working, police said.
After a trooper detected the odor of alcohol, Paryz was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. Paryz was arrested, and a check of his driver’s license revealed it had been revoked since 1997.
Paryz was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated and a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation. He was issued tickets to appear July 2 in Hanover Town Court and released to a relative.
