Nickelback, one of the most simultaneously adored and detested bands in the history of rock music, has canceled its summer tour.
And it has nothing to do with reviews or ticket sales.
Singer and front-man Chad Kroeger has been diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box. According to a news release, Kroeger will undergo surgery in three weeks, and has been ordered by his doctor to refrain from singing prior to surgery and for a period of recovery following surgery.
Full refunds for all tickets purchased, including the band’s scheduled Aug. 7 appearance at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, are available at point of purchase.
