NIAGARA FALLS – The fifth annual Festival of Fathers, sponsored in part by Healthy Families Niagara, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the splash pad in Hyde Park.
The festival, which is free and open to the public, will include music, games and crafts along with a fishing derby.
While the whole family is invited, the purpose of the festival is to encourage positive father-child interaction, while celebrating fathers, grandfathers and father figures.
Along with Family & Children’s Service of Niagara, the event is sponsored by United Healthcare and Fidelis Care, which has provided two bicycles for prizes. In addition to the games and activities, those attending will have an opportunity to obtain information from many other local and state human service agencies.
Healthy Families Niagara, a program of Family & Children’s Service of Niagara, is a child abuse prevention program that focuses on the well-being of children, while supporting and encouraging the family during pregnancy and continuing through the first five years.
