Falls crack dealer given chance to earn probation

LOCKPORT – State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. placed a Niagara Falls man, who pleaded guilty to two drug felonies, on one year of interim probation Tuesday, giving him a chance to earn a full five-year probation term.

If Kloch isn’t pleased with the showing Maulana Lucas makes on interim probation, he has the option to send him to prison for as long as 2½ years.

Lucas, 22, of 18th Street, admitted to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling crack cocaine Nov. 13, 2013, and to attempted fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having .18 ounces of crack Jan. 29, 2014.
