Deputies arrested six men on drunken-driving or drug charges or who had warrants for their arrest, Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard said Monday.
Among those arrested over the weekend was Patrick McHugh, 46, of Clarence, the subject of a Cheektowaga police arrest warrant. Deputies said McHugh was found with cocaine. McHugh was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and turned over to Cheektowaga police.
McHugh was a passenger in car pulled over by deputies responding to reports of a truck swerving on Route 219 in the Boston on Friday.
In a separate incident, a deputy reporting pulling over Brandon March, 30, of Alden, early Saturday morning after spotting him driving on the shoulder of Sandridge Road in Alden. March failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and drinking alcohol in a vehicle. March was also found to be the subject of a Batavia arrest warrant. He remained jailed at the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
