Motorcyclist remains in critical condition following Wheatfield crash

WHEATFIELD – A Niagara County man was still in critical condition Monday night, after he crashed his motorcycle earlier in the day.

David Spencer, 28, was in a trauma unit in Erie County Medical Center.

Spencer was found on the grass near the intersection of Lockport and Mapleton roads at 2 a.m. by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies and Shawnee Fire Department emergency medical technicians.

Deputy Thomas Huff and EMTs at the scene applied tourniquets to both legs and Spencer was transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC.

Police received a 911 call alerting them to the crash. No other vehicle was reportedly involved and Spencer did not have a passenger.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Identification Unit.
