Affordable Care Act was a huge mistake
In regard to the Affordable Care Act, are you better off now than you were before? I’m not. My premiums and out-of-pocket costs went up and the coverage went down. The providers are being paid less, hence the additional billing to the patient. I get a doctor bill every time I see a provider.
My wife’s insurance went from a $500 deductible to a $3,000 deductible to now a $6,000 deductible, and if a catastrophic medical event occurs, we are bankrupt.
Who benefits from the ACA? Working poor and people on public assistance, who pay nothing for full medical coverage, and the wealthiest 1 percent who keep on getting richer. Who’s paying for it? The blue-collar working-class, which can barely stand the weight of everything dumped on its backs.
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and I believe that was the case with the ACA. When the Republicans were finished with the modifications, it was a horrible mistake that should have been tossed in the trash. We can only hope this awful piece of legislation is scrapped.
