Lackawanna man faces drug count after auto accident

A Lackawanna driver who struck a parked car and then was seen throwing something away in the backyard of a house near the South Buffalo crash was charged with drug possession after police found pills in the backyard.

Police said Jason G. Connolly, 39, was driving a Chrysler on Abbott Road near Whitfield Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Saturday when he struck a parked Hyundai owned by a Depew woman, pushing it into a parked Honda SUV owned by a West Seneca man.

A witness saw Connolly leave his car, go into a backyard on Whitfield Avenue and discard an unknown object. Police searched the backyard and found a package containing more than 200 codeine pills, two Oxycodone pills and 10 Adderall pills.

Connolly was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
