The Village Preservation Party has elected new officers for the upcoming year. Each position carries a one-year term. Former Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor Jules Pecora was elected chairman; Frank Valvo, treasurer; and Sue Podsiadlo, secretary.
Joe Baker was named sergeant-at-arms and former Mayor Steve Hoffman was appointed as chairman emeritus.

• The Depew Joint Veterans Committee will make an informational presentation Wednesday about its request to move the cannon currently on the village triangle between Litchfield and Terrace near the former VFW to the village’s Veterans Park. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Southside Firehall, 45 Meridian, for village residents. A question and answer period follows. Anyone wishing to speak after the presentation will be allowed 3 minutes each at the microphone.
