S. Buffalo man charged with biting woman who had protection orders

A South Buffalo man was charged with criminal contempt, assault, strangulation and harassment after Buffalo police said he bit the face of and chased a woman who had two orders of protection against him.

David W. Bennett, 26, of Seneca Street, is accused of attacking a 34-year-old woman who gave police the same address, biting her on the side of her face, causing bruising.

The woman fled the house and went to a friend’s house, and Bennett pursued her there on a bicycle. She had been given the stay-away orders of protection by two judges in February.

Bennett was charged with criminal contempt, a felony; third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or circulation, both misdemeanors; and harassment, a violation.
