LOCKPORT – A murder mystery might be just what the Historic Lockport Millrace Corp. needs to fire up plans to renovate Lockport’s long-vacant Electric Building, located at the base of the Erie Canal locks.

The murder mystery fundraiser, “Key to the City,” created by Albert Franco, is set for 6 to 10 p.m. June 27 in Old City Hall, 2 Pine St., Lockport.

As part of Lockport’s sesquicentennial celebration, attendees are invited to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres and step back in time to 1825 when Lockport throws a welcoming party for General Marquis de Lafayette, as the Revolutionary War hero marvels at the newly finished Flight of Five locks. The party is sure to be a jubilant affair but events will take an unexpected turn in this mystery.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $50 and are available from Dr. Todd Retell or Dr. Jim Shaw at 433-6004.
