UB set to visit defending champion Duke at Cameron Indoor

The University at Buffalo will play defending national champion Duke University in a non-conference basketball game Dec. 5 at Durham, N.C.

Duke released its non-conference schedule on Friday. The Blue Devils went 35-4 last season. They return six letter-winners and have the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation.

New UB coach Nate Oats returns three starters from last season’s Mid-American Conference championship team, including MAC player of the year Justin Moss. Oats replaced Duke great Bobby Hurley, now coaching at Arizona State. However, Hurley’s presence wasn’t necessarily essential for UB to get a game against Duke. Duke Athletic Director Kevin White is the father of UB Athletic Director Danny White. Duke defeated Wisconsin, 68-63, in April for its fifth national title.
